What affects pressure-washing prices?

Updated 11 October 2026 · Free to read

Two driveways of the same size can require very different amounts of work. Before comparing pressure-washing quotes, make sure each provider understands the surface, condition and finish you expect.

BEFORE YOU DIVE IN

How would you like to get clearer on your quote?

01

Surface area and layout

Area is a useful starting point, but obstacles, steps, narrow side passages and detailed edges can increase setup and cleaning time. Photos and approximate measurements help providers understand the job.

02

Surface material and condition

Block paving, concrete, natural stone, resin-bound paving and timber have different limitations. Some surfaces can be damaged by excessive pressure or unsuitable chemicals. A careful provider should select a method for the material rather than use one setting everywhere.

03

Stains, treatment and finishing

Algae, general grime, oil and rust do not all respond to the same treatment. Ask whether pre-treatment, rinsing, re-sanding or sealing is included, and whether any stain removal is not guaranteed.

04

Compare like for like

Share consistent photos and measurements, ask what preparation and cleanup are included, and get the final scope and price in writing. Treat online estimates as indicative until the property and requirements are reviewed.

This is a guide to quote factors, not a current price list. Local rates vary and should be confirmed directly with providers. Images are illustrative, not before-and-after evidence or a promised result.
